2nd Annual Rising Tide Conference, New Orleans

The 2nd Annual Rising Tide Conference will feature workshops and discussions on New Orleans' most pressing issues surrounding the rebuilding efforts since the flood. Events include: a panel discussion on Louisiana politics, discussions concerning current levee protection issues, a keynote address from Dave Zirin (regular contributor to the Nation), sustainability presentations, a panel discussion including local New Orleans writers and how the impact of Katrina has affected their work, and lastly a panel discussion regarding the importance of civic duty and participation. Featuring local community members, bloggers, Mardi Gras Indians, local doctors, and hurricane survivors.
