Movie-Study Workshop!

Permaculture and Natural Building Session. Vocabulary, context, and watching a video from the Centro de Investigación, Desarrollo y Enseñanza en Permacultura (CIDEP)
in Patagonia, Argentina. Learn not only how to decode Argentinian
Spanish, but practical skills and ideas from some southern-hemisphere
innovators, and a lot of good vocabulary. 30 minute lesson, followed by
30 min. video, and another 30 min. lesson/conversation/exercise. 
Level:  Advanced Beginner through Advanced Intermediate.

Other Special Workshops

Plans are underway for several special movie-study workshops, featuring video from the Centro de Investigación, Desarrollo y Enseñanza en Permacultura (CIDEP), the Centro de Investigación y Enseñanza en Agricultura Sostenible (CIESA), and other Acronym-laden organizations. These are great films about Permaculture, Natural Building, Biointensive food production, and more. The class will teach the vocabulary and help interpret what these people are saying as they talk about their cool projects. Check the website often for updates.

About the Instructor

Reed Aubin has taught Spanish at Washington State University, Amigos de la Cultura, and the Punta Mona Center for Education and Sustainability. He is the author of an English-Spanish dictionary for ecological agriculture and sustainable development, drawing on over four years living and working in Latin America as a translator, interpreter, and student. Reed holds his B.A. in Anthropological Linguistics from Brown University and has interpreted/translated for Ecology Action, the Wilder Institute, and most recently, Copper Canyon Press' editions of Pablo Neruda's late poems. His enthusiasm - for both the Spanish language and for a sustainable world - has been called boundless as well as contagious.
