More Understories

"Understory" is a good term. We use it for many reasons, as a descriptive term for ecological phenomena, as a reference to the histories that arise from lower strata, from out of sight, only to burst forth in radiant and humble glory.

In keeping with our democratic and open-source ideals, here are some links to other righteous endeavors who we're in coopetition with for recognition when you apprehend the term "understory," carving out an identifiable space in the great field of meaning.

• The Rainforest Action Network puts out a good blog. Upstanding, responsible environmental activists, this lot.

• A book called Understories may or may not be any good. You be the judge. It's about forest politics in New Mexico.

More soon. We could call many things Understories even if they are not described, or "branded", if you will, as such.
